  i am new to this site, just finding my way around.. i've been studying with jw's for about 15 months.

  i'm an unbaptised publisher, and until recently never missed a meeting, have been out "on the service" quite a lot.

  i've been having difficulties with one of the jw's studying with me and something happened which was just unacceptable.

  Welcome to the site.

  I had thought I had found something really special, and was being encouraged to go for baptism in a few months. Now I'm beginning to think again.

  I know what you mean but you have a second chance at life now you have found the truth about the truth.

  I wish this site had been available to me back in the 80s when they first knocked on my door. It has taught me how to see through their double standards, flip flopping doctrines and so much other stuff.

  Keep thinking, thats all I can say.

  i was wondering what year do you think was worse 1968 or 2011. i think this year was bad for me due to the unrest and personal issues..

  I had a few good months back in 1975 when I was at college and again in 2004.

  Apart from those two times my whole life pretty much sucked right up until a year ago.

  I hope it won't get bad again and there have even been a few really good days recently but I am expecting it to get bad again. It's different now though because I am prepared and I have found some true friends.

  If I had given up college, marriage, children, decent job, pension etc. etc. etc. I would want more than a vague probability of life which is all JWs offer.

  I never believed we were "earning" salvation.

  I was taught that there are two roads. One was narrow and the other broad. Doing all the stuff we did like meetings, field service etc. just meant we had made a choice to take the narrow road.

  It was likened to there being two queues. One had the free gift of life at the end of it and the other death but just because we chosen the right "queue" that gift of life was still only a hope and not guaranteed but you stood a far better chance of getting it than if you had chosen the wrong queue, then you had no chance.

  jeffersonville fifty-eight-year-old charlestown resident bruce huff believes it is a sin to receive any blood or blood products.

  when his wife, 58-year-old candy huff, became unconscious several weeks ago and was rushed to clark memorial hospital, he wrote a letter to the staff telling them not to give her blood transfusions.. .

  The blood doctrine has adherents to it for whom it is not necessary.

  A programme was shown on TV here where a camera crew followed 4 women who were all pregnant but had been diagnosed with cancer. The advice for all was to abort their babies and start chemotherapy. One of the side effects of chemo was possibly never being able to have more children though.

  One woman was a lapsed JW. Very lapsed but not d'fd. She believed abortion to be murder so was going to continue her pregnancy and wait till after the birth to start her treatment. The blood issue came up and she stated categorically she would refuse blood even if it meant her death and the death of her unborn child. All this was said whilst puffing on a cigarette.

  Wonder how long this lasted!!!! 1953...

  it is assumed that all have studied the lesson in advance and know the answers as contained in the paragraphs.

  there are many who hesitate to volunteer a comment, but who will speak when called upon.

  this method may also cause some who have become negligent in advance study of the lesson to recover from the bad habit they have drifted into.
